1st. SECTION - STEAM LOCOMOTIVE ADVERTISING LITHOGRAPHS
This section provides the visitor with an introduction to the world of American locomotive builders’ advertising lithographs of the 19th Century. Lithographic prints illustrating and advertising the products of 30 some locomotive engine builders active within a time span of 35 years (1840 to 1880) are the subject here. And, what perhaps will be most interesting to those of you who are collectors and curators is a description of a catalogue project now in progress.

2nd. SECTION - PHOTOGRAPHIC RAILROAD TRADE ADVERTISING IMAGES

As the natural evolution of the railroad industry progressed through the 1850’s and 1860’s, the equipment used and its depiction in advertising also evolved. This section will, very briefly, present the general style of the illustrative medium that supplanted the printed lithograph – the albumen photographic print.
